Mr. McCabe represents the agricultural sector on the Source Protection Committee. He is a no-till, grain and oilseeds farmer. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree (Honours Chemistry) from the University of Western Ontario and studied soil genesis and classification at the Doctorate level. Mr. McCabe has considerable experience representing agriculture at the local, provincial and federal levels. He is the current vice president of the Soil Conservation Council of Canada; BIOCAP Canada; Canadian Federation of Agriculture Environment Committee; National CAIS Committee; Grain Growers of Canada Environment Committee (past chair); Ontario Federation of Agriculture (executive); Ontario Biodiversity Council; Ontario Agri-Food Education (past chair); Ontario Farm Environmental Coalition Greenhouse Working Group (past chair); Ontario Wheat Board Marketing Board; Ontario Corn Producer’s Association; and Ontario Field Crop Research Coalition. Mr. McCabe has also represented local interests as a member of the Lambton Federation of Agriculture and representative to corn, soybean and wheat organizations.
