Valerie M’Garry is a lawyer and resides in the Village of Delaware, Township of Middlesex Centre in the Thames River watershed. She is one of seven committee members representing recreation, ENGOs, academics, general public and landowners on the Source Protection Committee. Valerie’s specific interest is representing small businesses and property owners. Valerie was called to the Bar of the Supreme Court of Ontario in 1979. She has had 28 years of practicing in the area of Municipal, Administrative and Environmental litigation and law and is currently self employed with her own law office in Delaware, advising and representing municipalities and private citizens in municipal, environmental, administrative and planning issues before courts and tribunals and in presentations before Council; drafting by-laws, agreements and formal advice and recommendations to Council and senior administrative staff. Related experience has been as counsel to municipalities before courts and tribunals and as City Solicitor/Administrator of Legal Services for City of Sarnia. Valerie is currently a member of the Middlesex Law Association and a regular speaker/contributor to Canadian Bar Association Annual Institute.
