The Upper Thames River Source Protection Area includes
all areas draining into the Thames River above the
community of Delaware. This covers large parts of Oxford,
Perth and Middlesex Counties including most of the City
of London. Very small portions of Huron and Elgin
Counties also drain into the upper Thames River. The
area covers approximately 3,423 square kilometres with a
total watershed population (2001) of about 472,000.
