Sean Beech is currently the Manager of Environmental Services for the City of Stratford where he currently resides. He represents the municipalities within Perth and Huron County including the City of Stratford and St. Marys on the Source Protection Committee. Sean attained his Bachelor of Science with Honours in Biology & Environmental Science.
Sean grew up in Stratford and completed a summer Co-op program at the Stratford Water Pollution Control Plant and Small Drinking Water Systems. This taught him the importance of producing clean effluent to receiving water systems and clean safe drinking water.
In 2012, Sean began his career in the Water and Wastewater field as an Operator/Mechanic, and eventually moved into a Team Lead Role with the Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA). In 2020, Sean became the Senior Operations Manager in the Midwest Region for OCWA, overseeing both two large wastewater treatment plants and several Small Drinking Water Systems. In 2023, Sean accepted the position of Supervisor of Environmental Services with the City of Stratford to oversee both the Wastewater Collection and Stormwater systems.
In 2024, Sean accepted the position of Manager of Environmental Services for the City of Stratford, overseeing the management of Water, Wastewater, and Stormwater Services. He holds a range of licenses and certifications, including Wastewater Level 4, Wastewater Collection Level 3, and Water Distribution Level 2. Outside of his professional responsibilities, Sean is passionate about hunting and fishing, and actively contributes to the Stratford community by coaching his children in local soccer and hockey programs.
